Aarti’s Landmark Cases

Aarti’s track record in these matters demonstrates his ability to achieve exceptional results in some of the most challenging and high-stakes criminal cases in Australia, often setting precedents that benefit future defences.

W v Russell [2022]

In this child custody case, the court granted the mother sole parental responsibility, with provisions to maintain the father’s relationship with the children. The court also allowed the mother to relocate her children to the US due to emotional trauma, including self-harm.

T v Friso [2024]

This is a child custody case involving allegations of family violence and coercive control. The court denied the father’s application for contact with the children, granting sole parental responsibility to each mother and allowing limited one-way communication via cards and gifts at their discretion.

Z v Zeelen [2025]

In this child custody case, the court allowed a father to relocate his 14-year-old son overseas due to a complete breakdown of contact with his mother. The 11-year-old daughter remained in Australia with her mother, spending school holidays with her father, with both parents sharing parental responsibility. Family therapy and travel costs were also ordered.
