Muhamed uses a measured approach and attention to detail to help clients through uncertainties and stressful circumstances.
Mindful that each case turns on its own facts, he resists applying the convenient blueprint either to understanding matters, developing matter strategy and resolving disputes.
He is experienced in negotiating settlements out of court and representing clients as solicitor-advocate in contested proceedings.
Muhamed has also undertaken training in trauma-informed practice and in collaborative law.
Muhamed’s track record in these matters demonstrates his ability to achieve exceptional results in some of the most challenging and high-stakes criminal cases in Australia, often setting precedents that benefit future defences.
Muhamed acted for the mother as solicitor-advocate in a parenting dispute concerning whether final consent parenting orders should be reconsidered under the newly enacted 65DAAA of the Family Law Act 1975 (Cth).
As a matter of interpretation, the Court accepted the mother’s submission that, despite previous authority to the contrary, s 65DAAA allowed reconsideration of part only of a suite of final parenting orders, rather than mandating an all-or-nothing approach.
